Integrating Psychedelic Experience

Psychedelic medicines (aka entheogens) are experiencing a resurgence the world over. So many people have heard about these experiences from friends, books or podcasts, but have no idea how to find clear, detailed information or how to discern whether they are a good candidate for these treatment options. Others find it hard to integrate mystical or life-changing psychedelic experiences into their everyday lives. Some have had psychedelic experiences that felt traumatizing, and need additional help and support to heal and grow from these events. I truly believe that the integration process is the most critical aspect to maintaining benefit and long-term healing from psychedelic experiences. I strive to provide a supportive healing space built on trust, confidentiality, and compassion to truly explore the good, the bad, and the ugly…whatever comes up during your healing process.

FAQ:

How long is an Integration or Harm Reduction Session? These sessions are 50 minutes. This timeframe allows for some talking/check-in as well as hands-on or somatic therapy such as bodywork or acupuncture with an Áureo medical provider.

What do I need to do to prepare for a session? Wear comfortable clothing, and come as you are. Feel free to bring items of emotional or spiritual significance with you to add to the living altar in the Áureo space. Eat something but not too much before a session, try to give yourself a little extra time afterward for a walk at Mt. Tabor or in the neighborhood for grounding and re-entry into normal life.

How many sessions will I need? This is evaluated individually, usually during the initial intake with an Áureo medical provider. A general recommendation includes a medical intake/introduction for 50-minutes followed by weekly or every other week 50-minute integration sessions. 5-10 sessions are typically recommended, this gives 3-6 months to integrate the psychedelic experience and create a concrete plan for exploring insights, new callings, and how to integrate meaningful mystical experiences and messages. Sessions can also be offered on an as-needed basis, this process is co-creative.

What is the out-of-pocket cost?
- $220 | Initial intake session | 50-minutes
- $170 | Follow-up sessions | 50-minutes
- $220 | Follow-up sessions | 80-minutes

Is this covered by insurance?
Integration sessions are not covered by private insurance. However, the medical providers at Áureo are happy to provide a superbill for integration sessions that incorporate acupuncture or bodywork that may provide full or partial reimbursement of expenses depending on your insurance plan.

Integrations sessions do not in any way encourage or condone the use, purchase, sale, or transfer of any illegal substances, nor do they encourage or condone partaking in any unlawful activities. The Áureo clinic does not provide substances or referrals for any illegal use. The Áureo clinic supports a harm reduction approach for the purpose of education, trauma-informed care, and promoting individual and public safety.

Note: The medical providers at Áureo are not primary care providers and patients are encouraged to have a support network of trusted healthcare providers when engaging in psychedelic harm reduction/integration work or Ketamine Therapy. It is usually recommended for patients to have a primary care physician as well as a counselor or other licensed mental health provider to support patients during their healing process.
